Matthew Pacella, MS, DABR
Matthew Pacella is a New York State licensed Medical Physicist who earned his Master’s degree in Radiation Science from the University of Buffalo in 1993. He earned his undergraduate degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology from the University of Buffalo in 1987. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Radiology, board certified in Therapeutic Radiology Physics since 1997 and is board certified in Medical Dosimetry. He served in the Radiation Oncology Department at Buffalo General Hospital until 1994, when he joined Finger Lakes Radiation Oncology first as a consultant, and then full time in 1998. His professional memberships include the American College of Radiology where he is a member of the Radiation Therapy Accreditation Board; the American Association of Physicists in Medicine; and the American Association of Medical Dosimetrists. A native of Syracuse, NY, Matthew currently resides in Farmington NY.
Matthew is in charge of our quality assurance program. He is responsible for maintenance and accurate calibration of all therapy and treatment planning equipment. |

Carla Gizzi, R.N.-Nurse Manager
A Native of Trenton, New Jersey, Carla joined the FLROC staff in December 2002. She is a 1978 graduate of Mercer County Community College of West Windsor, NJ, with an A.A.S. in nursing.
Carla has worked in New Jersey as well as upstate New York. Carla has been working in Radiation Oncology since 1991. She previously worked at Highland Hospital’s Oncology Department before accepting a position at FLROC in 2002. Her extensive background includes Med-Surg Nursing, IV therapist, lab instructor for undergraduate nurses at MCCC, and over 9 years of ICU-CCU nursing. Her varied cardiology experiences include staff nurse for cardiac stress testing, Cardiac Rehab instructor, and cardiac cath lab nurse.
Carla has a variety of hobbies outside of nursing, which include designing jewelry, knitting, crocheting, acting and writing poetry. She enjoys spending time with her grandson and exploring the Finger Lakes region. She resides in Victor. |

Sherry L. Gorwaiz, L.P.N.- Staff Nurse
Originally from Rochester, New York, Sherry came to FLROC in April 2002. She is a 1995 graduate of the Wayne-Finger Lakes Vocational Center School of Practical Nursing. Her background includes women’s health and internal medicine. She enjoys traveling and now resides in Geneva with her husband Walt. |

Judy Aiken, L.P.N.- Therapy Assistant, Patient Care Advocate
Judy joined FLROC in 1999. She began her nursing career in 1972 after graduating from Geneva School of Practical Nursing. Her nursing background includes radiation oncology, maternity, pediatrics and internal medicine. She lives in Lyons and enjoys boating. |

Danielle Crane, R.T.T.-Chief Radiation Therapist
Danielle joined FLROC in 1997, after working in Hornell, NY for one year. She graduated from University of Rochester Radiation Therapy School in 1996. Originally from Bath, NY, Danielle now resides in Henrietta with her husband, son, daughter and two dogs. |

Paul Dubaj, R.T.T.- Assistant Chief Radiation Therapist
Paul joined FLROC in 1988 after graduating from the joint Radiation Therapy Program at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Erie Community College. Originally from Buffalo, Paul currently lives in Webster with his partner and their two dogs. |

Julie joined FLROC in 1991 after graduating from the University of Rochester Radiation Therapy School. Originally from Corning, NY, Julie now resides in Walworth with her husband and their golden retriever, Yogi, and her parents. |

Amy joined FLROC in 2002 after graduating from the radiation therapy program at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. Originally from Waterloo, NY, Amy now resides in Farmington with her family. |

Sara Chalupnicki, R.T.T- Radiation Therapist
Sara joined FLROC in 2006 after graduating from the radiation therapy program at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. She lives with her parents in Auburn, along with her dog and cat. |

Peggy joined FLROC in 2008 after graduating from the radiation therapy program at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. Peggy lives in Port Byron with her 2 daughters and her dog Jazzy. |

Front Office
Our dedicated front office staff consists of Medical Secretary Karen Francis and Receptionist Betsy Kapp. Together they have over 40 years medical secretarial experience. Our Transcriptionist, Susan Love-Wheeler and Practice Manager Karen Howard complete the front office staff. When facing a health challenge, no one wants to worry about paperwork. Our staff is there to help you straighten out the maze of bureaucracy. |
